USABILITY ANALYSIS

UX USABILITY TESTS TO OPTIMIZE THE USER FRIENDLINESS OF SOFTWARE AND DEVICES

Usability tests are used to evaluate software-based applications, such as apps, vending machines, electronic devices, machines, software, etc., as well as to check the handling of non-software-based aspects, such as packaging, instructions for use, commissioning/assembly, troubleshooting, and the like.

Both trained experts and deliberately untrained potential users can be used for the tests. The testers are assigned tasks as typical users go through. The test subjects record their experiences in structured survey forms.

Usability (UX) tests can be conducted in the lab using the thinking aloud method. The responsible project managers observe the user during this process, and the application is usually also recorded. For cost reasons, usually only a small number of possible user profiles can be considered here.

Online-based usability tests offer the possibility to involve a large number of testers at low costs and thus cover many potential customer profiles. For most tasks, online-based UX testing is the recommended method.

Typical test elements are all aspects of the application.

Usability UX tests are used in all industries that produce products or software-based applications.
